HunkerDown is a 59 Lazy Days High Bow Sportsman 1977 flybridge model coastal-cruising houseboat that is ready for her new owner to complete a refit that started 4 years ago with updating of the electrical, plumbing and most mechanical systems. The electrical system was updated in late 2007 with a new Kohler 15Kw GenSetwith only33 hours. Electrical updates include a galvanic isolator and bonding system in addition to major rewiring and outlets. She is powered with twin Mercruiser 255hp engineswithMercTran IIOutdrives and has beenout of the waterfor most of the refit period until the Summer of 2011 when she was launched with fresh bottom paint and has been docked in fresh/brackish water. Prior to 2007, this vessel was in freshwater lakes and rivers. A 2004 Survey report noted that "the enginesare reported tohave approximately 100 hourssince a rebuild,"and the Seller reports that the vessel has had very little use since that time. Actual engine hours are unknown, but they start easily and appear to run well. The hull was soda-blasted below the waterline in 2008 to remove all paint and tofacilitate thorough visual inspection of the bare hull; revealing no deficiencies at that time. The sturdy aluminum hull appears to be structurally sound with no evidence of corrosion on the interior welds or ribs and she has a high bow; making her ideal and safe for near-shore coastal cruising. During the refit, the interior was gutted except for the major storage cabinets, the enclosed head, and some of the appliances, including a SS 4-burner electricJenn-Air Stove with downdraft vent, SS Sink, andHotpointDishwasherare ready to bedesigned intonew galley cabinetry of your choice. Allnew galley wiring and plumbing havebeen completed. The Fridgidaireover-under Washer & Dryer are conveniently located ina closet behind a doorat midships with adjacent deep storage cabinets and closets. The walls and ceiling are covered with a natural bamboo woven wallpaper; providing a tropical decor. Natural bamboo molding trim pieces need to be installed. The interior is light and bright with large slatted opening windows throughout the vessel providing plenty of light and ventilation. The head is fully functional with a new electric toilet, bathtub with sliding glassshower enlosure, vanity with sink and additional storage cabinets. TheMasterStateroom is aft andtwo large and deep built-in closetsseparated by amake-up vanity countertopis in the middle along the port side. Thereare two helm stations with full engine instrumentation on the flybridge and the lowerhelm, plus a late-model West Marine VHF Radio with DSC and a Standard Horizon Digital Depth Finder. Interior Ladder Access to thespacious Flybridge Deck is conveniently located aft of the lower helm through the main salon. If you are looking for a 59'' aluminum hull with updated mechanicals tofinish building out the spacious partially-gutted interior to your ownspecifications and decor, this 59 Lazy Days High Bow Sportsman 1977 Houseboat is for you. the original layout included a forward cabin on the port side of the salon but the interior walls were removed and could easily be added if the larger and open salon is not desired.
