The Post Marine 42 Sport Fisherman is a legendary fishing machine with Jersey-style profile, premium accommodations, and exceptional fishability. The best selling Post ever, this is a two stateroom fisherman with flybridge, well equipped cockpit, and roomy upscale interior. If there is such a thing as a "gentleman''s sport fisherman" here is an excellent example.
The flybridge features radar arch, bimini top with full enclosure, outriggers, centerline helm station, new captain''s chairs, and guest seating forward. The helm features a full complement of electronics including: a Raymarine C120 multi-function display, digital depth sounder, Raystar 125 GPS, 6" compass, Polaris VHF radio, and Icom VHF radio. The flybridge is large, enclosed, and comfortable.
The 115 sq. ft. cockpit with varnished teak trim gives you more than enough workspace, and includes Schaeffer 22'' outriggers, prep station with sink, live well, and eight rod holders. When you are not fishing the cockpit has ample room for casual seating and entertaining. The foredeck includes stainless steel bow rail, two anchors, electric windlass, and foredeck guest seating.
The interior is large, open, and comfortable with lots of natural light. It has been completely refurbished with new paint, wallpaper, carpet, and furniture. Port side we have a three-piece leather sofa with twin recliners. To starboard are two new leather swivel chairs. There is an entertainment center with television, DVD player, and an AM/FM/CD stereo. There''s lots of room to relax after a day of fishing and discuss the ones that got away while enjoying a cold beverage. Forward we have the full galley down with full size refrigerator, three-burner range with oven and range hood, microwave oven, storage, and a ceramic counter top with sink.
For overnight and extended fishing trips there are two staterooms with a full head compartment with shower stall. The master stateroom is starboard with queen berth and hanging locker. The guest stateroom has upper & lower bunks, dresser, and shelf storage. Lots of room and excellent accommodations makes the fishing or cruising all the more enjoyable.
Performance is provided by twin Detroit Diesel engines generating 450 horsepower each with a cruising speed of 20 knots and a top speed around 25 knots. There''s an Onan 9kw generator and reverse cycle HAC. She is a good-looking, well equipped sport fisherman with room and first class accommodations.
