In the early 1960s, Arthur Defever designed several pleasure craft for the Offshore Cruising Society in the 38 to 54 foot range. These were deep draft, full-displacement, diesel-powered vessels. Noted to be quite traditional in appearance with graceful lines, a high bow and intelligent interiors. The hull is painted in a navy blue and the deck in bright white. Gemini is is a classic example of the 38, outfitted for efficiency, powered with a single Ford diesel.
There are two doors leading to the salon area giving access from both the port and starboard sides. The main salon deck has a helm station to starboard, a port side L shaped settee with a drop leaf dining table. The galley is aft and to starboard. The guest stateroom has a private head and vee-berth with ample storage beneath and opposite to starboard is a large hanging locker. On the port side is an enclosed head with a new Par electric head system and sink. The entry to the aft stateroom is to port of the centerline. The Master stateroom features a double berth to port, and a fully enclosed head forward to starboard with a stall shower, wash basin, and a newly installed Par electric head system. The aft cabin companionway also provides access directly to the aft deck.
