Hull and Deck
A Bruce Farr designed hull with hand laid solid fiberglass hull construction with an internal fiberglass structural grid for additional longditudinal and lateral stiffness and strength. The underbody has an externally fastened iron keel encapsulated in epoxy and a spade rudder, making this a very swift and agile design. The deck is one piece with molded nonskid, cored with end grain balsa coring exept in areas where of high loads or deck hardware where the deck is solid fiberglass and the hardware is thru-bolted or has plates laminated in the deck that are then drilled and tapped for the hardware. Beneteau incorporates the strongest hull to deck marriage in the busniness with and internal flange on the hull and then the deck is then thru-bolted. A very functional and optional aluminum toe rail covers the bond. At the bow double bow roller, recessed anchor locker with electric anchor windlass. The low profile chainplates are well inboard affording relatively safe movement fore and aft as well as a tight sheeting angle for upwind capability.
