Proving her "break-through design" label of the time, Intrepid won the America''s Cup four straight against Dame Pattie in 1967 and followed it up with 4-1 win over Gretel II in 1970. She was completely re-built in 1996 using double plank mahogany on oak frames along with new deck and deck beams. A removable composite center crew cockpit is utilized for racing events in between her busy charter schedule with Americas Cup Charters. Intrepid is in pristine condition having gone through her standard "winter re-fit", along with new paint job and detailed maintenance conducted by long time captain Mike Patterson. She is ready to continue her racing and charter operations. Intrepid is available for the 12 Metre North American Championships scheduled for September 23-26, 2011.
