Twelve Metre US 27, Modern Division. Sparkman & Stephens design, built by Minneford Yacht Yard for Lowell North''s Syndicate, sailed in the 1977 America''s Cup finals and was narrowly defeated by Courageous. Served as trial horse to Freedom in 1980, Azzura in 1983 and French Kiss in 1987. Purchased by French yacht builder Christian Trehard who added mechanical advantages and installed a removable tasteful cruising interior for six guests. Brought back to the USA in 2007 she has been upgraded for racing and cruising. After an exhaustive certification process and upgrades she is now certified to charter under US Coast Guard regulations. While the 2011 12 Metre World Championship Regatta will be staged in Germany, the North American 12 Metre Class has a full summer schedule culminating with the North American Championships in Newport fromSeptember 23-25.
