KZ5 was purchased in 2000by the current owner. After a six month re-fit she sailed in the 2001Cowes Jubilee and Europeancircuit then came back to the US for a total optimization.Major keel and rudder modifications in 2004 were followed by a new mast, new sail wardrobe anddeck hardware including carbon grinders and primary winch drums. After winning the 2005 World Championship shewent on to win a recorda record four consecutive north American Championships. Further upgrades were made prior to the European 12 Metre tour of 2007 when the World Championships were disbanded.Upgrades continued in 2008 along with additions to her North Sails wardrobe and she waswas prepared to compete in the 2009 season. Sheisstored inside under cover with the entire sail inventory stored in climate control care of North Sails.
